Board & Train for Puppies
Board and Train for puppies focuses on manners and routine, not formal obedience. Your puppy settles into a schedule, learns house manners, and comes home with a solid start - full obedience training comes later, when your puppy is ready for it.
A free evaluation comes first, so the plan fits your dog.
A puppy’s brain is not developed yet, so this track is built around manners and routine, not formal obedience. We do not push markers, release words, duration, or leash corrections on a puppy. Every puppy is different, and the pace below is typical, not a promise.
The first three or four days are about settling in: the crate, feeding, and potty schedule, with house manners starting on day one - accidents and chewing addressed only when we catch them in the moment. From day four through day fourteen, training becomes habit: potty schedule, crate calm, waiting for food, and no chewing, with name recognition, eye contact, and Sit layered in daily, and Down added if the puppy is ready. Short weekend outings to a flea market or dog-friendly patio round out the week.
Only in the last two or three days does the leash itself come into it, and even then the goal is small: comfortable wearing a collar and leash, following the handler, and a few short, easy walks with no heel expectations. Puppies in the 3 Week program move into official obedience in the third week - Sit and Down on cue, an introduction to the release word, beginning duration, a heel and pivot introduction, and the first behavior adjustments on leash.
Puppies go home with a routine, good habits started, and a Sit, and you continue the work from there. Full obedience - duration, leash communication, Place, recall - comes later, usually in a 3 or 4 Week program once the puppy is ready for it. The 2 Week Puppy Track is $2,000 and the 3 Week is $2,800, both plus tax.
